What and why?

Sport for development is a transformative force that empowers individuals and strengthens communities. By promoting teamwork, resilience, and leadership, sports provide a platform for youth and marginalised groups to build confidence and connect with others. Beyond physical activity, sport bridges social divides, fosters tolerance, and enhances cultural understanding, creating stronger, more inclusive communities.

In regions facing social and economic challenges, sports inspire hope, encourage healthy lifestyles, and offer safe spaces for personal growth. Sport-based programs address critical issues such as inequality, youth unemployment, and gender disparity, helping to create new pathways for opportunity and development. At Aleph Strategies, we harness the power of sports to drive sustainable impact, equipping communities to build resilience, engage globally, and thrive in the face of today’s challenges.

What we do

We advocate for the inclusion of sport within the development and humanitarian sectors. We also conduct evaluations and formative research studies to help strengthen existing sports and development programmes. Sport is greatly underutilised and under-recognised as a tool for sustainable development, something we aim to change through evidence based research, dialogue and practice.
